Location: Portage, MI
Job Description:
Compliance to industry standards and legal requirements is critical to our continued operations and success. The Compliance Coordinator with FEMA Corporation will assist with maintaining the environmental and quality management systems, completing customer compliance requests, and supporting the Safety committee to ensure continued compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and legal requirements.
Position will report directly to the Compliance Manager. Normal work hours will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Job Responsibilities:
- Customer Compliance
- Generate Free Trade Agreement declarations
- Submit IMDS reports for new and existing products
- Complete the annual sustainability surveys
- Execute projects based on meeting legal requirements such as REACH, RoHS, and Prop 65
- Management Systems
- Ensure vendor documentation is kept up to date
- Update controlled documents within IQS
- Maintain environmental and quality metrics
- Perform internal audits
- Assist with managing the internal audit schedule including following up on action items
- Assist with 3rd party certification audits
- Support supplier quality audits through performing onsite audits as well as assisting with maintaining the schedule
- Safety
- Participate in monthly safety walkthroughs and follow up on action items
- Assist with accident investigations and implement improvements
- Maintain safety metrics
- Ensure safety records are maintained
- Assist with preventative ergonomic evaluations
- Member of the Environmental & Safety Committees
Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree in technical or business discipline or a willingness to obtain
- 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing or Automotive Engineering environment; other experience may be considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project Management skills
- Strong attention to detail, timelines and follow-through
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Aptitude for comprehending industry standards and legal requirements
- Basic understanding of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and FEMA products is preferred
- Skills in Microsoft Office and Syteline
