Buyer
Job responsibilities include:
- Development and sourcing of components with the supply base
- Developing, maintaining, and monitoring supplier relationships
- Building, championing and implementing strategic direction for responsible suppliers
- Serve as liaison between suppliers and internal customers
- Drive best pricing for the business through negotiations, sourcing, and VAVE efforts
- Contribute to the development of processes and procedures to advance the Purchasing function
Ideal candidate will have:
- Strong technical understanding of components (i.e. their critical dimensioning and their interaction with other components) and the ability to effectively communicate this information
- Attention to detail
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
- Strong project management skills with a mind toward continuous improvement
- Ability to make decisions regarding materials, planning and vendor relationships
- Familiarity with AIAG, APQP, and PPAP requirements and expectations
- Experience in developing comprehensive supplier/commodity strategies
- Strong knowledge of planning systems/approaches and measurement tools, as well as competence in ERP systems
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of work time domestically or internationally
Candidate MUST have one of the following 4-year degrees:
- Integrated Supply Chain Management
- Engineering (any discipline)
- Manufacturing Engineering Technology
